Schibaura Water

Urbanberry Design received a start-up subsidy from the Creative Industries Fund NL in spring 2022 to initiate a project in Tokyo,
which is a community driven urban design research on the waterfront in the Shibaura-Konan area of Tokyo Minato Ward.
The long term goal of the project is to make a presentation of canals and/or waterfront of Tokyo Bay
together with stakeholders and to make a help build an active community for the future development.

The purpose in this stage was we could define the scale of the project with a specific location.
We reached out to, finding and meeting possiblerelevant stakeholders, and where we collectively could discuss about the research current and historical situation.
A diverse group including the lecture and discussion held together with the local municipality, developers, university professors,
urban planners, newspaper journalists, water taxis drivers, area managers, geographers, architects, and the local peopleresidents joined our meetings.
